Keitha Clark and Graeme Poile

Raised in the Yukon wilds, Graeme Poile studied guitar alongside his brother Kieran on fiddle and other friends like Ben Barrett-Forrest and Fabian Brook. He first came to public notice in their jazz and swing ensemble called ‘Come Eat a Cat’ at a Whitehorse Folk Society show and as the opening act for a touring Artist at Jazz Yukon’s signature Jazz on the Wing at the Yukon Arts Centre. Among his compatriots was guitarist Fabian Brook who is also a member of the Graeme Poile Quartet. Both have deep roots in the Southern Lakes community and the Yukon music scene.

Graeme and Keitha Clark performed at Created at the Canyon 2019, an audience-inspired collaborative art and music event in the outdoors at Miles Canyon presented by the Yukon Conservation Society with visual Artist Nicole Bauberger.

In 2021, fellow Quartet member Keitha Clark and Graeme collaborated on an exquisite EP recording for Artistic purposes and as a fundraiser for the Community Outreach Van in Whitehorse. “Now is a Far Country” is a collection of original, Celtic fiddle tunes from the North. It was inspired by the lyricism of Irish instrumentalists such as Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill. Recorded live at Old Crow Recording Studio in Whitehorse by Juno award winning sound engineer Bob Hamilton.
