(she/her/elle)
Danette began classical guitar studies as a teenager and later graduated from Brandon University School of Music. She has had the opportunity to learn from some of her favourite classical guitarists, including Daniel Bolshoy, Benjamin Verdery, Norbert Kraft and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.
Since moving to the Yukon, Danette has played as a solo artist and in collaborations with Nicholas Mah, Partrita, Matthew Lien and Wildlands, Leg Up Hands Down, Lara & the Danz, and countless other musicians.
An accomplished music educator, Danette’s teaching style incorporates all musical genres while embracing the philosophies of Dr. Sinichi Suzuki. She has had the privilege of teaching students from all over the world. As a music presenter, Danette has interviewed such internationally acclaimed artists as James Ehnes and Isabel Bayrakdarian.
Known for her versatile guitar skills, Danette’s repertoire is unique and diverse, often combining classical music with rock, pop, Latin and other genres. Danette quietly composes contemporary guitar music, and a bit more loudly, a few pop/rock songs.
Performing at Yukon Artists @ Work, 4129 4th Ave.
