Sunday Events | Open Studios & Family Programming | Oct 5

Sunday’s programming offered a slower, more intimate close to the Yukon Prize Festival Weekend, inviting families, art lovers, and curious visitors to engage with art in personal and meaningful ways.

Family-focused events were a highlight, with the Youth Life Drawing Workshop selling out and Kids Kreate welcoming younger children into hands-on, creative play. These sessions offered space for artists of all ages to get their hands dirty and experience art-making.

Across the city and beyond, ten Open Artist Studios welcomed visitors to Downtown Whitehorse, Takhini Hot Springs Road, Golden Horn, Carcross Road, and Haines Junction. The self-guided format allowed participants to move at their own pace, linger where they felt inspired, and connect directly with artists in the spaces where their work is made. These studio visits offered rare insight into the artistic process and one-on-one conversations that made the day feel both expansive and personal.
