The Yukon Prize Gala is the culmination of a weekend-long celebration of the Yukon creative community from September 14-16 in Whitehorse. Most events are free and open to the public, except for the Saturday night Gala which is a ticketed event. Gala ticket holders will enjoy canapés provided by 6 Yukon caterers inspired by the 6 Yukon Prize finalists, refreshments, entertainment by Yukon performers and the announcement of the 2023 Yukon Prize recipient.

2023 longlist alumna Robyn McLeod participated in the Adäka Cultural Festival (June 29th – July 5th) in Whitehorse. Robyn spent time at Adäka’s hide camp along the Yukon River, learning about traditional quill looming and exhibited her work in the Adäka Gallery.

Jackie Olson, 2023 longlisted artist, recently launched a website dedicated to the exhibition “Dire“ which brings attention to the massive decline of salmon populations in the Yukon.
Exhibited artists include: Jackie Olson, Darcy Tara McDiarmid, Kaylyn Baker (2023 Yukon Prize finalist), Faye Chamberlain, Elaine D. Alexie and Shirley Adamson. Curated by Jackie Olson.
